    Top Level Purchasing Specialist

    Purchasing for homebuilding operations in MN, SD, and WI

    Capstone Homes is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join our Purchasing team. In this role, you will be responsible for recruiting trades and suppliers, developing relationships of trust with them working with them to identify win-win cost-saving opportunities, and streamlining purchasing processes. Your work will directly impact the quality, affordability, and profitability of our homes. Our ideal candidate will be an outgoing self-starter who cares about people and is passionate about creating value through excellent buying.

    What we are looking for:

    • Proven ability to build trust quickly with trades and suppliers.
    • Humility in problem-solving with a strong sense of urgency and leadership qualities
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills
    • Prior success in a purchasing role

    • Continually improve Capstone’s cost position while securing sufficient labor and materials in all markets.
    • Set up multiple meetings with trades and suppliers and work with them to develop win-win cost strategies.
    • Negotiate for best cost/servicing agreements for unitized pricing.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with supply chain members.
    • Potentially lead and mentor team members in the future, developing them professionally and personally.

    Marketing and Sales Support Specialist

    Part-time 20-25 hours per week, potential to go full-time.

    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented creative thinker to join our team. In this dynamic role, you will play a key part in supporting our marketing and sales efforts, helping to drive brand awareness and streamline communication in our fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for marketing and sales who is looking to contribute to a growing and innovative team.

    What You Will Do: 

     Assist the marketing team in executing both digital and traditional marketing campaigns to boost customer engagement.
     Create and manage social media content and engagement for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
     Process Sales Contracts and all payments for contracts.
     Manage the VP of Sales expense account.
     Manage administrative tasks related to marketing, including organizing campaign schedules.
     Write, edit, and publish stories on our blog, email newsletter, and other digital publications.
     Create flyers, brochures, signage, and other marketing communication materials.
     Ensure that communities and departments have adequate supplies of brochures and other collateral.
     On-site video and photography as needed.
     Coordinate logistics for events, signage, promotional materials, and shipping of necessary equipment and materials.
     Participate in community events, fairs, and open houses to promote Capstone Homes.

     

    What You Bring to the Table:

     Experience in marketing support, administration, or a related field (prior experience in home construction is a plus).
     Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
     Knowledge of basic design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) is a plus but not required.
     Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, English, Marketing, or related field.
     Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
     Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a sharp eye for detail and creativity.
     A proactive attitude, showing initiative in problem-solving and idea generation.
     Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
     Willingness to work onsite.
     Basic to intermediate skills in capturing, editing, and optimizing visual content such as video and images (will train on video edits if needed).
     Basic knowledge of website content management.

    Architectural Drafter – New Home Construction (Lead Potential)

    Are you passionate about home design and precision drafting? Do you want to be a part of a dynamic team that brings new homes to life? We’re looking for a skilled Architectural Drafter to join our team and grow into a leadership role.

    What you’ll do:
    •    Design plans for new models. Interpret and implement building code changes.
    •    Set and maintain weekly department commitments.
    •    Update existing plans to reflect feature and specification changes with an emphasis on value engineering and office related cost variance reduction.
    •    Communicate any substantial plan changes to Director of Purchasing, Estimating and Design.
    •    Specify materials, trims, fixtures, and construction assemblies (floor joist, floor sheathing, roof deck layouts, etc.) Prepare blackline floor plans for sales brochures.
    •    Oversee the production of construction drawings. Make sure that they are fully coordinated with the structure drawings.
    •    Solicit trade contractors' input to enhance the value engineering of the floor plans and construction drawings. Make recommendations of areas that we can improve on cost effectiveness, construction methods, quality, etc.
    •    Assist with the development and maintenance of the framing plans.

    What You’ll Bring to the Table:
    •    Associate’s degree in architecture or equivalent experience.
    •    Fluent with Soft Plan or Auto Cad with the ability to transition to Soft Plan.
    •    Highly accurate and strong attention to detail.

    Job Superintendent Assistant – New Home Construction

    Capstone Homes is seeking a dedicated Job Superintendent Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting Job Superintendents and managers in all areas of residential construction of new homes. This role will support daily operational tasks ensuring projects are completed on time and to our highest quality standards. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are eager to gain industry experience.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Complete daily tasks as directed by the job superintendent and managers.
    • Assist in preparing construction sites, including setting up tools and equipment.
    • Post specs, plans, checklists, city plans, permit cards, and front door signage.
    • Loading or unloading construction materials, which need to be transported and used at the site.
    • Help with documentation.
    • Support job superintendents and managers in scheduling and planning project tasks and timelines.
    • Communicate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers.
    • Operate heavy and light equipment as required by the assignment.
    • Enforce cleanliness, building, parking, and erosion standards and policies.
    • Perform some specialized tasks that may require on-the-job training.
    • Maintain all safety standards on site.

    • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
    • Strong understanding of safety regulations in construction.
