Living in Forest Lake

Forest Lake is a growing, attractive, Minnesota community located in the northwest corner of Washington County. The city is conveniently located off Highways 35E & 35W and is part of the Twin Cities Metropolitan area. 

The city revolves around the body of water called Forest Lake. It is a popular fishing and recreation lake with the favorite targets of fishermen being walleye & largemouth bass. Whether you are boating or using jet skis, or enjoying the beach, it is always fun at the lake. 

The city is known for how well it takes care of its guests during the summer season and helping people enjoy the outdoors. They have great restaurants and ice cream stores as well as cute local shops to make a weekend visit fun and successful. They are very prepared to serve you as a tourist or as a Forest Lake resident who enjoys the beauty of the area all year long. 

The new neighborhoods like Hidden Creek offer families moving to this community a piece of affordable luxury as they enjoy homeownership. Hidden Creek is one of Forest Lakes' newest neighborhoods, offering split entry homes that range from 1600 square feet to 2600 square feet with a variety of floor plans to choose from. There is also one level living available ranging from 1600 square feet to 2000 square feet. All of these floor plans are very modern and open with plenty of space for everyone to hang out together or separately, whether working from home or playing at home. 

There are many community events that take place in Forest Lake throughout the year. We recommend Arts in the Park which is a community event that takes place every Tuesday in the summer and features food trucks, a weekly concert series, craft vendors, farmers' market and more. For later in the year, you can check out Hometown Holiday, a fun kickoff to the holiday season that begins around Thanksgiving each year. 

Forest Lake is also known for a very active and competitive sports environment. The coaches and players are very passionate about their teams and include community offerings as well as the schools. Whether you are interested in basketball, volleyball, football, gymnastics or lacrosse, there is something for everybody.
